For Student Workers
Signing in and setting up
Getting into the app with your email and password, and turning on the notifications the rest of the system depends on.
This page is a placeholder. Its structure is fixed; the writing lands in a later phase.
Signing in takes an email and a password, then one choice about notifications.
Do it
Open the app and type your email and password. Your manager creates your account. You cannot sign yourself up.
Tap Sign in . No PennKey redirect. Cancel a slow attempt and your typing stays.
Read the card about notifications and say yes. This card is the app asking, not your phone.
- Allow notifications in the dialog your phone then shows.
What you’ll see
A short tour of the bottom tabs and the Assistant, once.
Then My Shifts , your home screen. Settings replays any tour.
Rules that apply
- Some notifications have no off switch. Floats, swap requests, and a published schedule need your answer, so they reach you either way. See What triggers a notification.
- Saying no on the app’s card costs nothing. It never touches your phone’s permission, so you can say yes later. See Notifications and widgets.
- The browser has no password field. A 6 digit code arrives by email. It is a code, not a link, because a link tapped on your phone would sign in the phone, not the desk. See On the web.
If it goes wrong
Incorrect email or password. An unknown address returns the same message, so it never says which is wrong. Ask your manager.
Network error, or signing in took too long. The app gives up after 15 seconds, so your password was fine. Check your connection.
Your house is not on the system yet. Houses go live one at a time, so nothing is broken. Your manager knows the date.
